When Katie called Michael to tell him that Chris proposed, he did not say "congrats", he simply responded with the one thing no one else was willing to say. He chose the same number as hers in soccer and even followed her footsteps by attending Marquette University and letting the Gallo legacy live on for a little while longer in Milwaukee. Michael has always looked up to his sister. To his soon-to-be brother Chris, he is his soon-to-be middle brother and favorite brother. (this post has not completed an official fact check). To his sister Katie, he is both her middle brother and her favorite brother.

Many similarities can be found between Michael's relationship with the Bride and his relationship with the Groom. During the wedding, you'll likely be able to find Chris and I ignoring everyone and talking about fishing or me at the bar drowning my sorrows over the fact that the twilight of my 20s has put me in a situation where wedding season has taken precedence over dry-fly season. He rarely responds to them, but I guess he appreciates it enough to have me in the wedding. I moved to Montana where I've found great joy in sending Chris weekly videos of me throwing rocks into his favorite fishing holes. Well within three weeks of that agreement, Chris was suddenly well on his way to marrying Katie and I realized that I was going to have to come to terms with the fact I may have been the only one to take our oath seriously. By some miracle, we survived the journey and the end of it we parted ways in Alaska with a handshake and an agreement to prioritize fly fishing above all else for the rest of our lives. Three years and a hungover Sunday on the couch later, we made the decision to learn to fly fish by spending our post-graduation summer living in a Honda Odyssey and traveling across the West going from river to river. After meeting Chris early in college, we bonded over shared interests that included beer, fantasy football, and macroeconomics. Katie probably calls it the single biggest threat to their relationship. Some would call it a passion others would call it an addiction. It's been equally amazing getting back in touch with Katie after all those years, and Rob could not be more excited to stand next to Chris as they open the next chapter of life together!įor the lucky few that haven't heard him talk about it, Chris really likes to fly fish. And with close to 10 years in between their last interactions, Chris and Rob started where they left off as they embarked on a new journey of performance improvement and strategy projects, at both Bain and in life. Waiting for him after unloading the bus was a much more fit version of a long-time childhood friend. Plot twist! On a fateful night in November 2014, Bain sell weekend of all weekends, Rob was sitting with fellow groomsmen Samuel G Dickstein when whose name does he hear but Christopher Carey. With that said, Chris must have liked Quinn a little more than Rob (who wouldn't?) - once high school hit they largely drifted apart. Like Quinn, Chris and Rob's friendship started at the acclaimed Hubbard Woods Elementary School where they managed performance improvement projects on cafeteria assembly line processes and strategy projects regarding the recess-to-class ratio.
